    Hi,

I can't believe that this is actually, and 100% genuinely true: yesterday, the BBFC agreed to allow the full, uncut and uncensored print of the notorious nazi-horror video nasty "SS Experiment Love Camp" to be made available in the UK, with an "18" certificate for home viewing.

The film runs uncut at 93m 58s, and was made in 1976 by Sergio Garrone. The notoriety arrived from the bad taste poster rather than the video itself, but it's still a dubious release, nonetheless!

According to the BBFC site, the film will be released in a dubbed-English language print, in 4:3 only, from a company called "Blackhorse Entertainment"!

Who would have thought that the BBFC would ever let this film be unleashed on the UK?! Sheesh!

It back to the old censorship debat, a few people deciding what the majority can view. We all have freedom of choice, so should someone else decide your tastes. The recent relaxing of the adult video genre. There will be a mass lowering of moral standards shouts the church.
Sometimes a line needs to be drawn, and it will never please all the people. I feel the system in the uk to quite fair.

    Hi S Bowler,

I don't actually have a problem with this film, or any of the old video-nasties being released in the UK. In fact, if anything, I champion their release! I was just awestruck that the BBFC were willing to let this one out, uncut! Sometimes, it seems odd that the BBFC just pass these films uncut, and all the journo's over at the Daily Snail don't all stand-up at once, and start thumping their morale bibles! :rotfl:

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see this movie. Shame it's not in widescreen though, nor subtitled! :(

Yeah! But it was a rubbish film any way.
My video is in the attic and it's going to stay there.

    Racquel,

If is an original pre-certificate VHS copy, or a dodgy car-boot pirated version? The reason I ask is, I may be willing to buy the original from you, depending on the condition, and what you want for it, that is. Simply respond to this thread, if that offer is of interest to you. :)

Sorry it's not an original just a copy.
It's in my attic with all the other banned stuff that I've seemed to have out grown.
Personally I think it's all rubbish now.
Take away all the VHS fuzz (and the fact you can get them on R1) and all the glory disappears. You get left with rubbish acting with really poor "special" effects.

I think it's the laughable special effects that allow the BBFC to pass these things uncut these days. Makes you wonder what they saw in them in the past. Were folks really that dumb that they couldn't recognise ropey bits of foam rubber and jam?

    Hi,

Having now viewed the film, I can safely say, that the film is not only awful, but that there really isn't any contentious or controversial material in the entire film. The subject matter (Nazi experiments) isn't tasteful, but the actual movie contains nothing that is likely to cause any offence. :)

The effects are awful, laughable even, and the only reason it was originally banned - apart from the actual title - was the lurid cover artwork, showing a naked woman hanging upside down.

    Okay, that's all.

If it's the same thing I saw on VHS a long, long time ago I seem to remember them being obsessed with castrating folks, but I could be wrong. I know I saw all the banned ones in quick succession and none of them were memorable.
