    Hi,
I've just got my Sony SCD-XA777ES and my word what a revelation

The thing is built like a tank, really really heavy (16kg). The load tray is a work of art in itself, so thick and substantial.

Anyway as I've only had it now for a couple of hours I thought I would post my first impressions and then later once I've played some more, report back.

1st disk I played was the SACD Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon..........this is how multi channel music should be, so much detail and incredibly clear, my Kefs have sprung to life.
Time is incredible, the ticking/chiming clock seems like its right next to you and more than one of them!!!
Money, the tills ringing and change being dropped whizzes for channel to channel, erie.

As a standard 2 channel CD player its very impressive, will have to do back to back listenings with the DV27A. I've only played one CD, Theme from Gladiator

I’m sure this will get better as I’ve not yet set it up properly

Now I need more quality SACD’s

    Glad you're pleased!....for a full listing of SACD's,you could have a look at www.vivante.co.uk

Not the cheapest, but probably the most comprehensive listing of SACD/DVD-A and DTS discs in the UK.

My pleasure!.....they also have a superb selection of audiophile CD's and vinyl, and the quality of the Mobile Fidelity CD's makes you realise just how good standard Red Book CD's can be,if done properly.

Sticker here is a good place to start a SACD collection how does £45 for 10 SACDs sounds ?

There is some wonderfuls stuff in the 10 selected Linn SACDs :

    http://www.linnrecords.com/spring_promo.asp

    Barb Jungr - Chanson SACD
Claire Martin - Take My Heart SACD
    Clark Tracey - Stability SACD
    Gerard Presencer - Platypus SACD
Gerard Presencer - The Optimist SACD
Palladian Ensemble - Held by the Ears SACD
Perfect Houseplants - New Folk Songs SACD
    Tommy Smith - Bluesmith SACD
Tommy Smith - Sound of Love SACD
William Jackson & Mackenzie - Notes From A Hebridean Island SACD

Worth it alone for Claire Martins album. The other good point of these SACD is the CD player is :

(Stereo Hybrid SACDs. Normal layer HDCD playable on all CD players.)

£45 for 10 SACD !!   !! Even if you don’t like some well worth a punt but the Barb Jungr SACDs are on Vivante for £20, do some searches on the artists & welcome to the Sony ES club – membership has its benefits dude - a small select band of users in hifi terms.
