Thankfully not on my HTPC, but one of the other PCs in the house. Seemed to develop an 'internal program error' and no combination of uninstalling, re-installing, manually cleaning the registry entries and directories can get it to re-install from CD. I've tried their website solutions, including the worm removal tools and I've scanned the C: drive for viruses remotely from my HTPC. Any ideas short of an XP re-install?

    Cheers

    Simon

Had similar trouble with Norton on my last PC, steered clear of it since then. PC was running fine, then installed the latest Norton virus/firewall etc and no end of problems afterwards. Had to do a clean install to get rid of it.

Same thing happened to me last week. I reckon after i installed the M$ anti spyware program, and it deleted even more spy crap, it caused norton to fail.
