Most defently. Once you go over 60" progressive scanning (also similar to line doubling/quadrupling, which has been around for yonks) is well worth it.

If you do get a progressive display most likely you'll need a DVD player that has a built-in audio delay (one of the Arcam's) or a AV amp with a audio delay (Denon 3803)

I haven't seen the Z91 but by all accounts it's an excellent budget PJ.

    My recommendations would be:

    Z1
AE300 (don't like this myself but others seem happy :))
    HS10
    HT1000.

With the last 2 being head & shoulders above all others up to that price point. Beyond that, HD2 DLPs, Z10k etc... but you're into serious money at that stage.

Best of luck with the demoing :)

Well, reading all the non-news from Cedia, if I were buying now I would not hesitate in my choice. It would be a HT1000 without a shadow of doubt.

I love my 10k but with the HT1000 being available for a tad over £2k there is just no contest. having seen a HT1000 I would say the blacks are definitely much deeper and the resolution is way good enough for movies. Go on, push the boat out and order one. You'll regret it later if you don't :D

I feel sure if you buy a lesser pj you'll be upgrading sooner so in the long run it may cost you more anyway.

They had a repate on the HT1000 in the us, you could either get x dollar discount or an anamorphic lense. Has that filtered it´s way over here, is the HT1000 cheaper and is there a nice priced lense available?

I´ve read over on avsforum that the lense that NEC stack with the HT1000 themselves is awfull?

I´m thinkin now that if I can get a great price on the HT1000 and a lense then I might go for it. Is that option cheaper than bying an Infocus 5700?

Is there no hassle in watchin with the lense for terrestrial TV, DVD and Nintendo. I like widescreen material in it´s correct ratio, but 4:3 material stretched(some Nintendo games are 4:3 others 16:9.). Will this all work out without any problems?

That's exactly what I was thinking when I went there a few weeks ago. Still had to buy it though

I did like the Panny AE300, but availability issues, and the 3 year on-site warranty of the NEC, sealed it for me (not to mention the fantastic picture ;) )
