I`m off to China in March and will be staying for a couple of days in Hong Kong. I have been looking for a new laptop but only loking to spend about £400. Looking for decent spec with perhaps blu ray, hdmi out, 3 gig ram, etc. Will it be much cheaper from either HK or China. Would buy from respectable store with hopefully international warranty.

    Any ideas?

Hi, I've just been t HK and found things to be more expensive than here for a quality laptop, i don't know about China.
Get some prices here and compare.

The current weak value of the £ will probably make buying abroad poor value. Even when the £ was strong a few years ago when I was out in Japan the prices were not signiicantly cheaper, but you vould get newer models which were not on sale here yet in the UK.

    hi pal
the £ is low very low in January £1 = HK$10.30 that is the worst I have got from there in the last 7/8 years I have been going there

and AVOID the doggy shop’s on & around Nathan Road
they offer gold at the price of silver
once they have your cash they even on credit cards they will say they other shop or suppliers is out of stock

Then they till take you in to buying gold at the price of Diamonds

Stick to the chain shops but the £ is way down I think you will be better of buying in the UK

And have a look at the link below about the scams that go on their
Any way have a good trip
