OEM is just the drive, retail usually includes a fancy box, instruction manual and software.

If you can't find the retail cheaper than £200 I'd definitely go for OEM.

The £200.00 one in PCW is a BURNER....was looking at it myself today.

The OEM one you are referring to is just a ROM drive.

thanks for the replys.i've decided on the OEM LG for £82.i thought at first it was a burner aswell but wasn't dissapointed that it didn't.
i'm happy with the dvd re-writer.

If your outputing the audio via SPDIF, then it works like a charm, otherwise it'll only do 2 channel audio.

D.

I'm also interested in this drive: can you give me a little bit more info about SPDIF audio out. Would I get 5.1 (PCM)? Is it dependent upon the software (although PowerDVD seems to be used by just about everybody) which I used?

Cheers
