    Hi All

Had my Sony 1271 running for quite a while now and have recently noticed something odd.

I can now see very fine flickering/scanlines on the screen, particularly when display white (such as all white warm-up screen).

These are not the actual horizantal scanlines (which are also partially visible) but are much finer and seem to be some form of additioinal scanning running at about 5 degrees off horizontal.

Now, the thing is, I'm not sure if they have always been there or not or have crept up gradually on me.

I have determined that these are not input related as they are present during even warmup when I select an input with nothiung attached.

Anyone any ideas whay this could be?

(sorry I can't describe the issue better)

    Peter

I also have a Sony 1271 and have what could be the same issue.

I too had visible fine lines running almost horizontal usually only noticable when a large proportion of the screen is white.

I adjusted the refresh rates in powerstrip until they dissappeared. This was a tricky process because when adjusting the powerstrip settings the 'MS Windows' windows are grey and fill a large area of the screen so I could only adjust and close all the boxes to get a white screen and see if the lines had gone.

After a few attempts I did managed to get rid of the lines.

However, I still don't know what the cause is. So, like meep I would be grateful for any clues.

    Hmm,

I don't fancy adjusting my refresh rates as I've just got things set up sweet for 50Hz Pal.

Could bump to 75Hz but I'm happy with 50 as it doesn't tax the PJ much etc.

Is it odd that these fine lines appear even on inputs with nothing attached?

Sounds like the fly back lines.
G2's may be set too high.

    Hmm,

Haven't touched those in ages - do they slip?

I've a feeling this means a full setup from scratch:(

    Regards
