Oculus Home 1.17 update (baby steps)

this months update brings in the ability to launch any VR app regardless of what platform purchased on.

I have not tried it yet but it sounds like i can finally put all my VR apps in 1 place away from all my non VR stuff to keep it all nice and organised.

so all my VR stuff in oculus home
all my non vr stuff in steam.

great :)

If the game needs it you will still load steam vr. All this is is for organising lists. That said afaik it adds the link at point of going into vr... So I wonder if the games which give an option of native oculus or steamvr vr will now skip that annoying question

Ah, thanks Mike. I had a look on the Oculus forum and it seems riddled with problems at the moment. I think I shall side step it as best I can. I had hoped, somewhat specifically, that it could enable me to play IL2 without the Steam hassle. Thought it sounded too good to be true

Does Home update automatically?

eventually yes, but its currently in beta. I expect it will roll out to all in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

if you do sign into the beta be prepared for multiple updates over the next few weeks and a number of bugs

1 thing i DONT like... the drop down option for uninstalled games is now gone, its instead part of a filter for your entire library... which is a step back imo.
