Question Octava faulty - new HDMI switch recommendation?

After a couple of years sterling work, my Octava switch has gone faulty on me. More and more often it switches input but just refuses to show a picture.

Requirements:

4 minimum, preferably 5 inputs, 1 output, Optical output compatible with Sonos Playbase
Preferably in Logitech Harmony database
Preferably autoswitching can be turned off.
Optical input/switching was useful on the Octava as I didn't have to rely on splitting the audio from the Virgin TIVO HDMI output, but I can probably live without it.

Inputs:
FireTV
NowTV
Virgin V6 Tivo
Panasonic BluRay

My current Panasonic "Last of an era" GT series plasma is a bit long in the tooth and only has 2 HDMI inputs so I can cope with 3 inputs if absolutely necessary and program the switching in the Harmony. Normally, I would consider buying a new TV and getting extra HDMI that way, but with a move to Spain on the cards within a few years and plans to build our own house there which would probably entail a significant TV/Audio upgrade, I don't think SWMBO would wear that one.

So - any recommendations? Not only is the Octava tricky to get hold of but I'm "once bitten twice shy" about buying another one. Even though a new TV would come along eventually, some future proofing or at least adherence to current standards (HDCP 2.2 4k/60hz) would also be nice just in case I find it needs to be re-used in future installations.

Many thanks

I loved my HD41ARC, worked great with my Sonos soundbar, just a shame they’re not made anymore.

These switches look decent but no optical in or out, there’s ways around that though

Yes thanks, saw that one, but gets expensive when you add on another £50 for a CoAx-Optical converter and yet another power adapter to the pile behind the TV... :(

Wonder if either of these will do the job....

This one is at least on the Harmony Database

Octava HD41-ARC and UHD41-ARC - we shipped a lot of those units and very few issues with them. Have you ensured that HDMI CEC is not enabled somewhere within your system - that can cause issues with the switching.

HDFury Vertex² - has a similar feature set plus full compatibility with all current 4K UHD video and audio formats, it has Optical out plus a dedicated HDMI Audio out for connecting to a legacy AVR or Soundbar.

I bought the Octava UHD41 from you - I did try to track down the invoice to find the exact date but looks like I deleted the email - and yes, it's been flawless, but the issue has been gradually getting worse with having to switch between inputs more than once to get the picture and now I have to restart the switch completely to get any signal at all off the FireTV.

The Vertex2 isn't an option thanks, the Octava was pricey but that one? Well I simply can't justify that kind of expenditure - it would be better value to simply buy a new TV.

Joe - Done

I think it'll be an option out of the ones I've listed above unless anyone has other recommendations.

Just to report back - I took a flyer and ordered this one. Does the job perfectly, is in the Harmony database and passes out 5.1 to the Sonos as required. For £20.

No 60hz support but I can live with that.
