Its been a long time coming but I've finally got the chance have my own dedicated Cinema Room, like many before me, Ive read these forums over the ways and always thought wow these rooms are awesome. So after having a modest set up for years I recently moved (August) to a much bigger house which has allowed me to get stuck into the cinema project. So here are a few pictures

Here is the room in its current state, the plan was to have a full 7.2.4 system installed, with a fixed screen and projector. So it was off to Ideal AV for a listen to his demo room.

As you can see we were happy with what we heard and what we saw, so the kit was bought MK speakers, JL subs, Epson LS10k, Seymour Precision Screen 120". It was an interesting ride back home with all this kit wedged in!

The next phase was to transform the room:

The cables are going to be boxed in to create a halo effect around the side, front and back of the room.

The frame was up and was starting to take shape and the holes in the ceiling were cut out ready for the atoms speakers.

Boxing was in and also all the holes cut out for the spot lights, a raised platform was built so I can a two level seating arraingment for when the whole family/friends want to watch a movie or the big sporting occasions.

Its coming along nicely and should be completed in a few weeks. Ill post some new photos as things start to change.

Fantastic, watching with great interest. Amazing kit list! Best of luck!

I should have a few more updates over the next few days, the fireplace has been removed and patched in the same as the french doors, ill upload photos tomorrow.

Awesome, your abit like me i think, if you see something you want you have to get the whole lot right there and then, who cares if the car is not big enough, ram it in there and get it home!! haha!

As mentioned above already, the kit list looks good, should be superb when its all setup.

Are you doing the work yourself?

Look forward to seeing more progress pictures

Im doing bits an pieces myself, like making the lads a cuppa and fetching bait as and when is needed. Does that count as doing it myself? :)

The speakers are awesome. I have the similar set up. With 3 x IW150 and 4 x IW85. Using 2 x REL sub's.

Enjoy them.

Cant wait to have it all up and running, what amp do you use to drive them?

I would love to have MK or genelec speakers one day, but as I never see prices advertised I guess they are beyond the reach of normal folks ! They are specialist speakers I guess and I remember years ago some of their kit always had THX certification (does that count for anything anymore?!)

Keep us posted with pics matey. :smashin:

Amp wise I am using an Onkyo 818. A very good amp. I think Allen at Ideal AV used it when it first came out and really liked it.

HTH

French doors all boxed in in preparation for the screen, hoping for the room to be painted within the next week followed by the carpets being laid.

Obi where are you located.

A bit too far if you want to come for a listen. But the offer is there.
