    Hi there
Would like to know if anyone is using Etymotic's 6i with the NW Series.
Are they good enough. I have the Sure E2c and planning to switch to Ety's.

Using both the 6i's as well as the shure e3s. ( and sony ex71s ocasionally !!) The 6is are good - isolate very well. I like to leave eq off ( on my hd5) and find enough bass for me ( some people like more!! ) I happen to like the e3's better though( somehow a "fuller" sound esp in midrange(?) . The fit/comfort is better for me and the build/cable etc seems slightly "stronger" than etys. ( Though to be fair - no probs to date with 6i's - and they are very light etc if that's important to you)

Both headphones are fine IMHO - and the hd5 drives em both very well . ( The ex71s are my "throw in a bag /pocket" kinda stock phone - not too worried if lose/break etc. ( More bass - but a little less isolating than other 2!!)

    Thanks for the reply.
The Shure E2C that I'm using are somehow lacking in the treble zone. They are full in the middle, but the detail is not the one I would like to have. That's why I'm considering the Ety's 6i

i've used the e2c & to be honest i found them fiddly to fit (wire down the back & then the loop over each ear)

i'm now using the 6i's - albeit with an ipod - but have found the sound excellent & the fitting, esp on daily use, easier & more comfortable

Do you know if there is any difference with Etymotic's ER6 and ER6i, other than the whiteness?

yes a slight difference. i've taken this from the http://www.stoneaudio.co.uk/ website -

'NEW Limited Edition 6i isolator earphones are designed specifically for use with the Apple iPod and other small portable players, offering 8 dB higher overall sensitivity and slightly more bass than the ER-6 isolator earphones'

    hope that helps

So if you want the 8 dB higher overall sensitivity and slightly more bass (? I assume you would as it's designed specifically for use with the Apple iPod and other small portable players, apparently) but you don't want the ipod white, what do you do... buy something else?
