I'm seeing the prices of these things tumble this year and I'm looking at the Samsung 970 Evo 500GB which I can pick up for £110. Is the speed difference on the OS just bonkers over an SSD as a result?
I'm not too fussed about sticking games on it as I've currently got my OS and a chuck of games on my main SanDisk Ultra II 960GB SSD with a couple of smaller SSDs and a 1TB spindle drive (which is becoming redundant) but was thinking more of plonking the OS and maybe a couple of most played games on the NVMe.
Is it simple to install and easy to migrate your OS from the SSD to the NVMe? Did you have to do any BIOS updates and stuff for the board to see it? Did you encounter any pain? Just wanted to gauge if the process was smooth for you. Don't really fancy re-installing the OS if it can be cloned. What's been the main benefits for you? My current setup is my sig.
