Nvidia Shield 2019 Pro 'OK, Google' Voice Control

The 2017 Nvidia Shield apparently has a neat feature that allows hands-free voice control by simple saying "OK Google" but annoyingly Nvidia decided to remove this facility from the 2019 Nvidia Shield Pro that I own.

Various references on the web talk about a "2017 version of SHIELD controller is required" so my question is does anyone know whether I can just buy say a 2017 Nvidia games controller to pair with my 2019 Shield Pro and use this to enable "OK Google"?

I have a Harmony Ultimate all-in-one remote and am hoping to eliminate having to use an actual Nvidia remote for voice control/search. This solution would not eliminate the Nvidia controller but it would mean it could just be left on the side within speaking range and I wouldn't have to find it and press a button to activate voice search. Any thoughts anyone?
