Currently looking at upgrading my current AGP graphics card an Nvidia 6200LE.
Mainly for gaming, I was looking at the Leadtek 7600GT but keep seeing the ATI X1950Pro being talked about.
Would the ATI be much better than a 7600GT?
or would a Sapphire X1950GT be good enough/
PSU 400W - 12v rail is only 17 Amps. is that sufficient? :(
Thanks

Current pc

AMD Athlon XP2700
1GB ddr2 Ram
Maxtor 300GB Sata HD
MSI KT6-V Mobo
Nvidia 6200LE AGP Graphics

Get the 1950 (and possibly a new psu! worth a try though)

It depends what type of games you plan to play, along with the resolution needed. The X1950Pro is much better than the 7600GT, but it also costs quite a bit more (especially for the AGP version).

I would hold off and replace your mobo/memory/cpu...you're going to be limited by the CPU.

Just read a review and it seems my CPU could cause a bottleneck :(

Just put this together at Ebuyer.

Not sure about the PSU

What do you all think?

What do you all think?

You forgot to add ddr2 ram.

If you can afford it I would get a IP35 motherboard. Slightly more expensive, but ensures you can upgrade in the future to Intels next generation of CPUs. Also some can take DDR2/DDR3 ram, and have a higher FSB.

I'm not sure about your PSU also....I always stick with the brands Enermax, Tagan or Seasonic and I would go for a 600W.

Holding off with the upgrade for now.
I have just ordered an ATI X1650 Pro 256mb graphics card to keep me going for the time being.
If the PSU struggles i will have to upgrade it.

Thanks

Pretty lousy card, you should have picked up a ATI X1800XT secondhand instead, that'll run on a 400W PSU

Pretty lousy card,
Why is that?
Read plenty of reviews and it seems a good card for the price.

A big increase in performance to my current card.
