I am somewhat confused by the POI files for Camera data.
Just got a Nuvi 250W and been using the standard Garmin 30 day trial cam data, which are all GPI files.
I have been looking at the various ways to update when my trial ends, and came across a file on the internet supposedly being the latest garmin UK camera file.
This turned out to be a GPI file and I copied it into the Garmin folder on the 250W, disabling the existing GPI files by renaming.( I have a copy also).
I tried a simulated run past my local camera, which it identified but with no tone alert.
(UPDATE ... I tried a live run and it gave the normal tones .. had the Custom POI option unchecked)
I then thought I would try and alter the alerts with the aid of the Garmin POI Loader, which I duly downloaded.
However, when it asked for the data file, it was looking for a GPX file only.. which I don't have.
SO, is there a separate GPI / GPX file or does one convert to another and how do I alter the sound alerts ?
