Just enjoying some local Cob Nuts and am looking forward to picking the untouched Sloe and Damsons pretty soon and wondered if anyone else enjoyed picking/buying/eating things that were local to them and what these might be.

My brother has 2 plum trees in his garden - they produce beautiful fruits.

Just round the corner from his house is a lovely walnut tree that has some great nuts.

I like cob nuts - there's an orchard full of them close by and I decided to fill my boots and go with a carrier bag - and the farmer/owner must have had a hidden camera as he appeared from nowhere... :)

I'll also be looking for sloe berries for sloe gin again... :)

There's a road near me that's filled completely on one side with sloe and damson trees for around 1/4 mile that remains virtually untouched every year.

Time to clean the buckets out
