I've got HotD2&3 and am just using the wiimote. Should/could I be using the nunchuck as well; when I connected it, it didn't seem to do anything.

I know I'd be better with a zapper but it's not worth it for the small amount of time I play the game.

I'm new to these type of games but as I understand the nunchuck is not compatible with HOTD 2/3 or Overkill as they are a "on the rails" game (sorry if thats the wrong term).

I would definitely invest in a gun, I have a Nyko Perfect Shot which you can buy for around £12 and worth every penny.

    Rich.

Thought so...I'm sure the instructions said to connect it but couldn't see why. TBH...I bought the Wii for the Wii fit and for my daughter as she gets older. I do tend to do my gaming on the PS3, but do fancy the idea of dabbling with the Wii if a game benefits from the controller motion or if it's an exclusive. I fancy having a go at the old GameCube Star Wars Rogue Squadron games for example.

The Wii is a refreshing break, i have 360, but got my Wii strictly for the motion sensing games, there are some good ones. The Shaun Whites Road trip is a snowboarding game that uses the balance board from Wii fit and is great IMO. Also Tigerwoods Allplay is a great game that I chose on the Wii rather than 360. Mariokart Wii is also a must and can be played online.

Even if you only rented games for the Wii, theres plenty there to give you some good fun

House of the Dead 2 & 3 do not use the Nunchuk, as you've already realised.

However, other light gunners do such as Ghost Squad, and Umbrella Chronicles (I think).

I'm pretty sure Ghost Squad doesn't use it at least I've never had the option to. The game is on rails like most "light gun" shooters and therefore doesn't require the player to choose which direction to go in. I believe Umbrella Chronicles does though.

Ghost Squad uses the nunchuck if you select the Zapper Control Scheme. Just for action moves and to select the gun mode (e.g. auto).

The nice thing about Umbrella Chronicles is that it lets you look around, even if it a rails shooter.

I'd recommend the Wii zapper - can be picked up for under £20 and the free game that comes with it (Link's crossbow challenge) is a great wee game. It also utilises both the nunchuck & remote in some of the subgames - good fun all round.

I use the zapper for HOTD2&3 - hand gets very tired after all that blasting !!!

    Dedicated thread here.

I like the Nyko Perfect Shot, but for me it could do with a slightly larger grip. I've not tried the Venom, the other popular 3rd party housing.
