I have been using a Sony LCD RPTV model kf42sx300, but it has developed a fault, so i will be getting a refund and looking for another tv. I connected the sx300 to my ntl box using a good scart and selecting rgb, but the picture quality looked poor on a few channels. Text looked smeared, and the background on a lot of things looked blocky and grainy. What i want to know is would this still be the case if i bought a good plasma? Is it a problem with ntl, or does a rptv make the image even worse? I can live with a bit of distortion, but need to know which is at fault. Cheers for any response.

I have ntl ( Had anologue, now digital ) on my pw7 apart from some problem with picture quality, The problem was the cable going into my box which turned out to be a loose connection. so renewed the wire and connections and that made the difference with the picture. Although i had ordered digital in between sorting the problem.
My picture was grainy ( no blocks ) once the wire was sorted the picture was smashing.

Hope this helps
