What's the best method of conneting NTL cable box (2 x SCART) to a Lumagen ?
A SCART to 4RCA cable will do the trick - set the NTL to Output RGB and Input 03 on the Lumagen to 'SCART'.
Joe - Many thanks for helping a noob.
I've been looking at Keene and QED who have a range of Scart to RCA cables. As I will also need sound the only thing I'm seeing ave 6 RCA's out. These appear to be component RGB+sync(QED AV19) or YUV/RGD video+sync (QED AV29) ??? Would these work equally well or do you recommend something different ?
Also I have an Pany E85 dvd recorder that I'm planning to plumb into the system for recording from NTL. I'm going to need both input and output. What's the best option with the Lumagen in the loop ?
We tend to use supply the QED AV2910 or a custom VanDamme cable when we require RGB+Sync+LR Audio.
A B-Tech Quintro+ SCART control centre will give you two RGB Outputs from a single RGB Input - 01. to the Lumagen and 02. to the DVR.
The Panasonic DVR has YUV or SCART RGB Outputs - if the YUV sockets can Output an Interlaced signal then its a simple 3RCA to 3RCA into Input 04 on the Lumagen.
If the DVR only Outputs Progressive via YUV I'd go instead with RGB+Sync using another VanDamme SCART to 4RCA cable to Input 04 on the Lumagen (NOTE Your Lumagen dealer will need to supply you 1 x Sync filter for use on Input 04 if you are going with RGB+Sync).
