To all you NTL digital users

Have you noticed any degradation in picture quality over the past 2 days.

I was watching Big Brother on Channel 4 the other night and the picture suddenly went very grainy and there was colour bleed especially with red. Thought this was confined to Channel 4 so tried BBC1. Again the picture was grainy and there was a lot of picture noise on backgrounds.

Tried playing a DVD and then my VCR which were both okay.

I know NTL have introduced various new channels on to 800 - 900 channel numbers so are they lowering the bit-rate on their broadcasts?

Is there a way of finding out the bit-rate etc

    Cheers

Yep from the installation /setup menu which the engineer uses to code the box on site.

Soft Reset the box then a pair of keys held together ( don't recall which ones ) take you into the menu.

its the up and down buttons.

turn off, then turn on holding the two buttons on the decoder.

E4 has always been pretty ****ty on the bitrate.
