Can you get a decoder from a different manufacturer than the pace one you are supplied with, if so where can i get one from

NTL only buy their decoders from PACE although there is an indication that Samsung might supply some next year.
Any NTL decoder you buy (ebay/guy in pub) can not be used to access digital subscription channels without a smartcard and being registered on their network so it's pretty pointless exercise and a waste of money.
