    Hi all
Now we've been separated (for good or bad). I'm really interested in knowing what everyone on here has got (I loose track!)
Could we have posts here that tell us what kit you have (just things that effect picture quality), where it was obtained and anything you'd change and why.

    I'll start the ball rolling

    Source:
    SEVENFOOTFILM HCPC
    GlobalWin 802 (Black) Case
    Enermax Whisper 350W PSU
    Asus Tusl2-C Motherboard
    Intel PIII 1Ghz FC-PGA
    Quiet PC CPU Fan
    Supergrace Radeon VE AGP Card
    Pinnacle PCTV Rave TV Card
    512 Mb Crucial Technologies RAM
    40Gb Barracuda IV Hard Drive
    M-Audio Audiophile 24 96 Sound Card
    Pioneer 106s DVD Drive
    Teak Floppy Drive
    Arrowana Airboard IR Keyboard/Mouse

Software = dScaler, TheaterTek DVD Player, Powerstrip, Norton Ghost, Pioneer DVD Drive Utilities, DVD Region Killer

    Cables:
    'B4 Special' (I don't know)

    Projector:
BarcoGraphics 808 CRT Projector. Quite old

    Screen:
Draper 7' Baronet 16:9 Electric Dropdown Screen

HCPC was home-made from many sources. PJ, screen, cables and installation from Roland@B4

Walls are matt cream and beige and floor is wooden and shiny (all bad for black levels)

    Things I would change:
I would have liked the install to have been more 'stealth' IE projector flush with ceiling, screen in or flush with ceiling.
I will change the graphics card in the HCPC.
I might try and create some sort of black curtain that covers (temporarily) the screen wall to help black levels and reduce distractions (the fire is a bit shiny!)

Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with everything. I've tweaked the HCPC now and would probably like to recalibrate the PJ to match.

See the link below for more info and install photos and screenshots.

Hope this is useful info for everyone
    Regards
    Alex

I have a 1.3 Athalon PC, with Radeon All-in-wonder and SB live 5.1.

Software is exclusively Theatre Tek player, powerstrip, DVD rom tool for the pioneer 106. The usual suspects really. Not Forgetting Dscaler to use with Pinnacle Card for sports etc.

Projector is Barco Graphics 808, probably older than Alex's but still looks stunning. I run at 1280 x 720 on a 92 inch diagonal 16:9 screen, not sure of the make to be honest.

I find this reslution gives the best pictures although have tried at 960p and it still looked good but 720p is working everything a lot less and looks slightly better.

Upgrades will be new sound card for PC (m-audio) and a Denon 3802 or simillar as my sony STRDB925 is getting on a bit.

Picture wise I can't see any way to improve without spending a lot of money!

    As listed

    Projector:Marquee 8001
    Screen : Da-Lite 80"x45"
    DVD : PSI PD-1000 ( On Route )
    Amp : Yamaha DSP-A1
    Speakers: B&W DM604,LCR6,DS6, ASW2500

Currently using my PC as a source but soon to be replaced as it's not very wife freindly.
Would like to go the seperate pre/pro route for my Amp when funds permit.
Also wish to have some sort of scaler to input LD's and Sky.

    Roland,
Would love to take one of your hands.
Unfortunately the lotto never came up.
I'll have to do it the hard way and start saving.

Cinematrix PSM1 (in the pipeline) (may upgrade to PSM2) - ITC Holland
    Denon 3801 - AVland

Rarely used HTPC put together by me from various sources:
    Win2k
    PIII running at 900mhz
    Region free DVD drive
    Radeon DDR video card
    512meg Ram
    PowerDVD XP
DaLite 8ft wide 16:9 1.3 gain fixed screen
SBLive 5.1 with Hoontech co-axial upgrade

    Kef Q35 speakers front & Q95.2 centre - AVland

Walls and ceiling matt Hawaiian Blue (dark greeny blue, quite nice)

Various cables medium priced stuff, no big names 'cause they ain't worth it!

Nice to have a forum for those proper projectors :D At least the word Panasonic won't come up quite as often.

    Barcographics 808

Quadscan (soon to be replaced with a PSM-1 modded Denon 1600 on Pauls recomendation)

HTPC. (rarely used- but features a Radeon 7500, Trust 5.1 soundcard, Athlon 1600 processor, Win/Power dvd etc.)

    Tag AV32R EX processor.
    Rotel Amps
Kef TDM rears (4) and centre.
    Mordaunt Short fronts
    Paradigm servo 15 sub.

    Thats about it really.

PS Paul. Hope to get the player this week

    Rob.

    Hi Rob,
Yep, nice little machine the Denon! The more I use it the more I like it. Its so much smaller than anything else I've had before, very neat indeed (Pi 737, Sony 7700 etc.). Layer changes are lightning quick. My only gripe is no Component output but then again the Barco's 80x's don't take component so its a minor whinge. Still not got it PSM1 modded yet - next week hopefully.

Looks like the replacement word for 'Panasonic' is 'Barco'. From now on the rules state that any thread without the words BARCO in it should be deleted! :D  :D

    I don't have a Barco...can I post...

Got a Sony1270. Am hoping to get a 9" nec10pg very very soon...although it may be sold as it's bit big for current living room. Video processing is currently either a GVC1280 or a RuncoPFP7 depending on which one is free at work....

DVD is whatever I borrow from work. Usually FMJ Arcam. B+W FRONT and Sub and Energy bi-polar surrounds. Onkyo xxx amp, Skyplus, Foreign DigiSAT BOX , Thomson VCR....home made screen. Pronto...

    May build HTPC next...
