And could I add - it's about bloody time!!!
Anyone know what the soundtrack is in (dts?)
Like it matters!!!
That looks better (and cheaper!) than the R1 3 disc, which only has the CD soundtrack as the third disc.
I'm with you AB - I have managed to avoid buying the awful disc available at the moment waiting for the day this wonderful film was provided with the DVD release it deserves. Looks like that won't be long now.
wow! good news at last, fantastic film!
I have the crappy disc at the moment (was only 3.99) but have ordered this now. Good value as well!
I've had the barebones R1 release of this circa 1999 - which is miles better than the crap R2 release. It's still devoid of any extra's but the picture quality is sublime - and it has a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack...which is also to die for
I have clicked "Buy"... And I can guarantee you this disc will gather no dust!!
Is this better or the same?
As far as can be seen, it's twice the price, and contains a soundtrack CD, instead of the interviews disc in the R2 version. For once, it does look like the R2 is the version to go for.
Yes Sir consider it clicked.
Oh, and look I happen to have a 10% duiscount voucher
is the region 1 3 discs? and are the extras the same?
Am I the only one that thought this film was mearly OK?
I thought it average although well acted and i wouldnt go out of my way to buy it, some of the scenes were superb but there was every prison cliche in the book thrown into this film.
Shame on you The greatest film off all time
But it's such a good soundtrack (that dosn't seem to be available this side of the pond for some reason ) especially as it contains some of the origional score that I'm still undecided as to which version to get... also, the one in the cd-wow link seems to come with a book aswell.
I have the soundtrack on CD bought just after the films original release in the cinema and I agree with you completely, such a wonderful and evocotive score. If you cant get hold of the cd seams like a good bet to get the version you mention! I'm sure the interviews are good, but are they better than the soundtrack ?????
You need to weigh up how often you would watch the extras compared to how often you would listen to the CD I suppose. What we need is a 4 disc set...
