Diary.
Monday 25 November.
Ordered 'Goldmember' R1 over the Internet.
Tuesday 26 November.
Package arrived.
Wednesday evening 27 November.
Tried to play Goldmember. After 6 minutes, disc/player froze. (This is the first disc in 300 that I can't play). Cleaned disc, replaced, froze again, several times during first 10 minutes. Removed disc and watched MIIB instead.
Thursday 28 November, 1130am
Telephoned supplier. Then went to Post Office to post defective disc back.
Friday 29 November
Replacement copy of Goldmember arrived. (Haven't played it yet, but that isn't the point).

And the supplier? www.dvdslimited.com

And before anyone else makes this observation - no they aren't the cheapest supplier out there. But excellent customer service is something it is hard to put a value on.

(To be fair, I have been a customer of theirs for many years).

Have you tried your replacemeny gold member yet? as I have the same problem as you the disc will freeze every 5-6 mins and this is the first disc I 've had a problem with aswell. My machine is a pioneer 737.

Thanks

Replacement disc suffers exactly the same problem.

Plays OK on my (old) 505 throughout.

After a bit of 'testing' the freezes occur at the same points on this disc as the special feature 'infinifilm' subtitles pop up. They only occur when infinifilm is OFF. Select the infinifilm version from the menu and it appears to play OK (but WITH the special subtitles, of course). I have only extensively tested the first 15 minutes or so.

I reckon we have a disc which exceeds the specification for DVD and is unplayable on (at least) Pioneer 737's.

I'll be interested to see how DVDsLimited react to my e.mail on this subject......

Hi nigel

Thanks for the reply, I have 5 other infinifilm dvd's and they all play fine this is the first one I've had a problem with. do you think the region 2 will be the same I may have to get that version!
I will also e-mail my supplier and see what they say.

Cheers

Warren
