At this time, the rising star of the police force, young officer Yeung Kam-wing (Leon Lai) meets Ming on a chance encounter, and the pair becomes good friends, although Ming suspects Wing may be an undercover agent for the mob.

Ming discovers he's being followed by Sum's former business partner, Shum Ching (Chen Daoming), who's related to Wing.
