I was trying to cut and strip some QED Original cables but when I connected everything it caused my amp to turn off after a few minutes. Eventually I gave up and used some old Logitech cables which are already stripped. My question is would I notice any difference if i bought some pre-terminated QED or Chord cables?

Sounds like you had a few strands of wire going astray. Make sure when you strip the ends back you don't have any wisps of wire sticking out and then twist the bare wire into a tight bundle.

Pre-terminated wiring probably won't sound any better than your QED stuff (But should be better than the Logitec), but at least is easier to work with.

Whats important with bare wire is that you periodically take it all apart and clean up the ends with a bit of emery paper as the copper will oxidise over time. You don't get this issue with pre-terminated cables.
