Well it's officially out now. Anybody downloaded it?

I loved the original Carmageddon game for the PC... but "Car Combat" is a bit ambiguous... it could be some sort of Twisted Metal or Destruction Derby clone for all I know.

I suppose in this day and age getting some pedestrians (sorry "Zombies") to mow down is probably asking a bit much

Just had a go on the trial. Didn't think it was that good TBH, not very exciting at all, I could see it getting very boring very quickly.

    Oh :(

What does the actual gameplay consist of then? Is it similar to any of those games above?

Its not as fast as carmaggedon, its almost like a remote control car. Although your going at 200mph it doesn't feel like it, and its hard to aim and shoot.

Just had a quick go on this and it is pretty uninspiring. There's no sense of speed, damage and more importantly fun.

To me it just feels soulless and a rushed job. One to avoid methinks...

I tried this one and rapidly deleted it I'm afraid. I'm very encouraged by the recent run of newly developed titles, and am really enjoying Assault Heroes at the moment, but this game wasn't something I was looking for. I didn't really feel that involved in the control of the car. The remote control car analogy earlier is spot on for me.

Yeah, I gave it a quick go last night and wasn't overly impressed... maybe it will get better as I only tried it for a few minutes.

The weapon I had was rubbish - I didn't even realise it was firing initially - just showed up as a green beam. The control system doesn't quite feel right either. I won't delete it yet though - might give it another try when I'm bored... The multi-player might be more fun than the single player campaign...

Same here, had one quick go and just couldn't get to grips with it, really didn't enjoy it. Assault Hero last week, loved it, just shows that sometimes new stuff isn't all it's cracked up to be
