Does anyone that owns the DVD-2910 notice layer changes?
The layer change is what bothers me the most in DVD flaws & if it is noticable on the 2910 I will not get it.
I have a DVD-2200 that I can exchange and know it is deadly fast, but have no experience with the 2910. The 2200 has a flawless picture with store bought DVD's but has a difficult time with DVD's that I record so Denon will let me exchange.

Denon DVD2200, Marantz SR5200, Paradigm Studio Speakers, Toshiba 52" DLP

The "picky" dvd situation with the 2200 is a known problem. I've had the 2910 for nearly 3 months now and so far I have never noticed any layer change.

If your concern about the 2200 is that it is fussy about what discs it will play, I would strongly recommend avoiding the 2910! I've had 2 of them, both of which refused to play standard (i.e. not recordable) DVDs that 7 or 8 other players I tried them in played flawlessly. I ended up having to get a 3910 instead - the 2910 is *really* fussy about 'problem' discs.

I think this seems to be something that's said more about Denon players than any other manufacturer. I personally have only ever had one disk my 2900 wouldn't play, and I've tried quite a few.
Anyhow, back on topic, layer change is not a problem on the 2910 :)

Had a 2910 for 3 months now, use it heavily. Never seen a layer change.

    Ivanhoe42day,
Just wondering - what do you mean by Denon letting you exchange?
I too have a 2200 and am itching to get a 2910 (for the DVI output -> projector)

I am a corporate manager for the worlds largest electronics chain and know people in the business that will help me out with the exchange as my unit is under warranty.
Thank you all for your feedback, I exchanged five different Marantz (three different models) units because of layer change... it is my pet peeve.
