    GET A STINKING REFUND!!...lol

its easy, take the unit back to the retailer, show/tell them about the defect, and they will GLADELY refund it. Thats what i did, and am SO glad. The zen touch is 1000000 times better than the hd=5 (and i used it for a month). The interface, software, and even sound quality in my opinion is superior. Plus it acctually comes with some DECENT(not great) head phones, a carrying case w/ belt clip, and costs almost $100 less then the hd-5 when u factor tax. So really, enough with the complaints, just RETURN the piece of junk, and get a zen touch...or wait till Sony can make a better built product.

Even with the cracks, I still wouldn't swap my HD5 (unless it was for another HD5). I find the sound that much better than my brother's Zen Micro and it's also far more usable. Not sure how the Zen Touch compares, though.

It displays the Walkman logo for around 2 - 3 seconds either way.

The Creatives actually flash up with "Shutting Down", and take around 20 - 30 seconds to turn off.
