I think she should also apply to have the kerb dropped as well. I wouldn't fancy driving up and over a full kerb!

It reads more to me like the contractor has taken advantage of a little old lady. If you were a responsible trader, you wouldn't do it. Would you ?

First thing I thought too, are they going to pay the council to move it or will that be added to her bill? if it's even possible.

I don't know why they're installing more street lights when most councils can't afford to keep half of them on at night.

Reminds me of when Alton Towers built their hotel and had to take a wall down when they realised they left a JCB inside!
