Hi I have had a s3 for about 3 weeks now and every now and again some people ring me but can't get through to me and they tell me its not even ringing I would say this happens about once a day but the way around it is if I ring out from my s3 it somehow kick starts my incoming connection for awhile I have checked the call settings plus I have received a new sim card from Vodafone but still the same problem any suggestions what it could be? Is it best to return the device and try another one
I have even reset to factory state yesterday and my mate has just texted me to say I can't ring you

Do you notice this problem in one location only or is it network wide?

Is your phone connected via GSM or 3g when you have problems? You could try changing the network mode to GSM only or wcdma only. Obviously changing to GSM only will have a huge difference on data speeds.

I'm on EE and for a few weeks now, I'm not getting calls, data or SMS until I toggle the signal from GSM to gsm/wccdma . I've even installed a 2G/3G toggle on my desktop to make it easier!

I usually need to change at least 3 or 4 times a day, but sometimes ahve to toggle half a dozen times, one after another until it connects. It's VERY irritating!!

Hi I am on Vodafone and since I started this thread I to installed a 2g/3g toggle and I have left my s3 on 2g and I have always received calls plus I popped into my Vodafone shop and have been told they are working on the 4g signals around where I live but my downside on this is data is very slow regarding going online via 2g

there might be many problems solution might be.....
    1. Restart the phone.
    2. Enable flight mode and disable so that it reconnects.
    3. Make an outgoing call and a flood of missed text messages will come in (strange!)
    OR
You could try clearing the data and cache in the phone app..
    Main settings/Application Manager.
