I have been out of the PC building game for a fair few years now, having been on laptops for nearly 10 years

Anyway, in the intervening years, the connectors have changed from IDE to SATA

Now my cases power supply only has 2 power connectors for SATA. Can I convert one of my several spare IDE power connectors to SATA using this?

Sata to 4 pin molex power adapter converter connector 65030821780 | eBay

I just wanted to make sure before purchasing that it's the correct one

I will also need to buy an extra lead for the data part of the connection, but had worked that out already

    Thanks in advance

The SATA connector carries +12V, +5V and +3V3. I haven't seen any SATA hard drives that require the +3V3 (yet) but there may be some devices that do?
