Not booting

Have a pc a few years old all was fine until about a week ago it failed to boot and just went into bios screen. Disk is seen in bios fine. Tried swapping sata cables no different so decided to buy a new SSD to replace the old HDD.
Fitted okay loaded Win10 and all was fine until today when exactly same into bios. So reloaded WIN10 again and currently is ok. If I connect up the old HDD it is recognised and I can access files on it just not boot from it.
Any reason why the boot up info seems to keep getting corrupted?

Reinstall the boot loader. For some reason it is corrupting it. Try updating the BIOS and see if that helps.
Found this to reinstall the boot loader
