Its my wife's 40th in Dec and I would like to get away with her to see the northern lights. Now I'm fully aware that nothing is guaranteed but does anybody have any idea where's the best place to go to increase the chances of seeing it?.
If you want to almost guarantee seeing the lights but are not too bothered about anything else then Greenland is where you need to go, specifically Kangerlussuaq. The reasoning behind this is their weather conditions are very stable and in prime viewing months (Nov - Mar) you have a 99% chance of clear viewing
Edit: It's worth mentioning this will come at a cost. So it may depend on your budget.
