I have seen some as cheap as £8 for a spindle of 50 and a good make. I wish I had got some at the time.
Don’t forget there is also Aria and Microdirect in the area. Also Pricebusters for more up market stuff. I will post the addresses if you need them. All within 10minutes drive of each other, about 15 from the Mart.

Last time I went to a Northern Computer Fair, I was very dissapointed. Very busy, and in my eyes not as cheap as some internet companies. Just my thoughts.

I have to agree, "Bowlers" Northern Computer Market has gone downhill.
It was once the place to get great bargains, and plenty of variety.
The prices are no longer the cheapest with Microdirect/Scan/Aria beating it on most items.

    An example being DVD-Rs.
Bowlers average = 100 discs for about £100
    Scans 2 speed = 100 for £52 inc vat!
    Epson 830 printer
    Bowlers = £86-9
    Scan/MD = £82

Another problem at Bowlers everybody selling the same things etc.

To top it all off it cost me and my mate £8 for us to go spend money there!
Then if somethings faulty having to pay the £4 again to take it back!

I fully expect NCM to raise the entrance price to £5 soon, as it has been weeks since the last rise!
They are in real danger of bursting the bubble with sky high entrance fees.

I must admit going the other week to try to track down a Sony500AX DVD burner. They are out of stock everywhere, but managed to get one there. So it does still have some use!

I find the cheap stuff is the stuff you can get cheaper at the mart but I find the goods over £75 are more dear and as fulabeer states you have to pay an entrance fee, and for returns, this plus them moving the opening time to 11am was the reason I stopped going.
I once went and asked for a certain make of HD from what was a big retailer and they said they had non in but would have them at there shop near by (I took note of the other HD of the same size of different makes). After 30 minutes and getting lost I arrived at the shop and asked for the same make of HD as I wanted at the show, they produced one which was not the name I asked for, they said it was the same make but just went under a different name(this was true as I found out). I then said I could have got it at the show cheaper (about £10-15) if their assistant had not got it wrong, but they where adamant they would not let me have it at the show price as they said it was separate stock. I showed them the pass stamp to prove I had been to the show so they told me to go back to the show. I said that was likely with a lousy journey back, plus petrol, then a wait to get on the car park and one to get into the hall. That was the last time I ever used that firm (not the mart but I only used that once more). :thumbsdow

So does anyone know price for cdrs at the fair ?
There is one in Nottingham tommorrow morning, I dont want to waste my time and money for entry fee to find that I can get them cheaper of SVP comms (which have VERY good after care).

BTW, anyone know how much the entry fee is ? or does it vary by location.
