This is a wonderful performance in an intimate setting at The House of Blues.
Have you seen it? If so, what did you think? I prefer it to her studio CD.

It was shown on tv over here a few weeks back and I agree,
it was a very good concert.
She did seem a little shy when talking between the songs
though, but that will improve now she has more confidence
due to the zillions of Grammy's she picked up for the album.
Her backing musicians were excellent, especially the bald-
headed fella on guitar who I've seen before but can't remember
    where.
All in all, a very good performance from someone who I believe
will go from strength to strength.
Tell me Nelgan, what's the picture/sound quality like on the
dvd? Is it in 5.1 and if so, what's the mix like?

The picture quality is quite good, and the DVD has both 5.1 and 2 channel PCM stereo mixes. I just got the DVD Friday evening. While I manufacture and sell speakers for 5.1 systems, I am still a 2 channel diehard when it comes to music, so I have only listened to it in 2 channel. I'll throw it on my 5.1 system tomorrow and let you know how the multichannel mix is.

    Cheers

Listened to the 5.1 mix today. Pretty good as fas as 5.1 music mixes go. No crazy effects panning, just nice ambient effects. Highly recommended!

    That's what I was hoping you'd say.
I will now be ordering it and will let you know what
    I think.

I've just watched the dvd and I agree that it was a
wonderful performance. The 5.1 mix was really good
allowing her voice to be spread across the whole of
the front sound stage. The quality of the audio was
excellent with her backing musicians placed in the front
right and left speakers leaving the surrounds for ambient
effects and the audiance. She sang the songs with such
ease, a true sign of a gifted performer. I loved her rendition
of Bessie Smith by The Band (Robbie Robertson, remember
    him?)
Definately a must buy for all those who liked her cd. :smashin:
