    Hello there

After months of pestering, it looks like the wife is about to concede in my battle to get a plasma.

I have been scouring the forum the last few days and my intention is to get the Pani PW7. However I am still a little confused about the cards required to set up.

Currently I can get this for about £1350 with Scart Card (1 slot) & pedestal.

My current set up is the following (connected in order)

Sky (Panasonic) Receiver > Panasonic DMR E55 DVD Rec > TV Scart 1

Pinnacle Showcenter > TV Scart 2

When looking around I note that a tuner may well be required and these cost £200-300.

However, to save this cost, could I not simply connect the recorder straight to the plasma via scart hence delivering TV signals (via both recorder & Sky).

How could I then connect the Pinnacle system ie would I have to get a board with another Scart socket or could I use another connection. The Pinnacle has both video out and scart.

Would be great if someone could clear these points up. :lease:

    Thanks
    Branny

OK checked out the thread, still doesn't answer my question and the terms are somewhat confusing if you are new to this.

To recap, can I avoid having to fork out for tuner by using Sky & DVD R to deliver signals?

In relation to the Showcenter, could Iattach both the DVD R and Show to a Scart switcher thatis then conected to the single Scart Socket on the plasma?

    Cheers

    Read again. 3 times.

Sorry, I do not understand what is being said and it would seem that you are unwilling to expand in more simplistic terms.

If anyone can give me a laymans terms answer then that would be great.

    Thanks

The E55 is capable of taking an RGB input on one of it's scarts, and outputting it as component video. As the panasonic scart board is considered a bit 'soft' in PQ terms, get a COMPONENT board, and connect all other bits to the E55, turn it on, select the input you want, or TV channel, and the job is done. Not too hard?

    Maw

Thanks for that. Component board it is then.

I take it that the Tuner board is not required, ie the DVD R will output the TC signals?

    Cheers

No tuner, it's a bit tacky anyway. You have sky and DVDR terrestrial tuners already.
