DTS Soundtracks (both DV and LD) seem to be all the rage at the moment from looking at the DVD Sales forum and the threads appearing here and elsewhere.

I thought it would be interesting and helpful to list any films that you know which are available with a DTS soundtrack.. but not on UK or US DVD (as these are easily and readily available) I'm interested in those slightly harder to find movies.

Thought I would start the ball rolling :

    Blade Region 2 Japan
    Sleeply Hollow Region 2 France
Dark City Region 2 France (only heard about this one today)
    Crimson Tide Region 3 Korean
    Heat Region 3 Korean
Dances With Wolves Region 3 Korean. (US 2 disc version is OOP now I think)

(Speaking of Korean DVD's Try www.koreandvds.com and type DTS for the search criteria.. tons of movies some in DTS which are not in the UK/US)

Please add your own.. now I must order some french DVDS :)

    Cheers

    Matt

u can also go to www.dvdfr.com go to search and enter DTS5.1 and english and voila, you've got yourself quite a few discs. Unfortunately I'm too lazy to copy them all on here:p

the problem with dtsonline's list (last time i checked anyway) is it makes no distinction between different languages. so a film may only have dts in spanish, and the original dialgoue in english - or worse still only a dts dub and no original language.
    http://www.electronicreality.co.uk/dts_list.htm
all these AFAIK are original language dts titles. it doesn't cover a lot of HK movies, i'm considering adding a seperate list for foreign releases as there are a hell of a lot that most people have never heard of.

    danielzavitz.. great list....

Thought I would add to your list.. Akira DTS is available in R1 though like the R2 its a japanese track though it does come with subtitles.

Also gutted to read your review of Face Off R3. Though I have found 2 R3 versions. the Special edition released by Buena Vista and another Called Face off DTS Version released by Intercontinental Video ?? Do u know the difference is any between these releases ?

As it happened I have bought one of each and will sell off one once they arrive...

    Cheers

    Matt

matt i have a sneaky feeling my face/off is intercontinental - but licenced from buena vista obviously. you may well be getting two copies of the same dvd. R3 dvds often have loads of distributor logos all over them and different companies may have listed it as different ones rather than listing all of them.

    I'm sorry I did a few mistakes:
We were soldiers, it's the dutch version that has english DTS the french version has only french DTS and I was wrong about the others. although the french DVD has an audio commentary it has no english DTS (the poressreelase said english DTS but checking the deatils on dvdfr tells me there's only english DTS
:lesson: must be more careful when posting:lesson:
    sorry:blush:

    Has anyone used www.koreandvds.com ?

I ordered Face Off DTS & Cliffhanger DTS off them on Thursday & they still have not shipped. The only email I've had off them is a one telling me my payment was successfull.

Please tell me these are not a dodgy company.

When I looked on there site I could not find Face off DTS so I used www.yesasia.com who were great.. I have not heard any horror stories from www.koreandvd's though.

Just to confirm both the Face Off DTS discs I bought .. though slightly different packaging.. were in fact the same identical disc!

Both Face off's (special edition and DTS Edition) on the yesasia.com site both have DTS soundtracks and slightly different packing. Though the physical discs are identical.

    Cheers

    Matt

Oh for Jpn DTS discs I use www.cdjapan.co.jp. My blade DTS cost £29 delivered from them. they also have the shawshank redemption amongst others :)

Has anyone got the Italian version of Evita (DTS, anamorphic)?

I just ordered it , but I don't know if it's any good - has to be better than the UK version though.

Do any of these foreign ones have subtitles you can't switch off?

Had a look round in Holland and found 'The princess bride' in dts without all the extras - nearly added this to my R1. Also found a shop in Eindhoven selling dts laserdiscs (inc Armageddon) for £100 a pop!

I've ordered Con Air,Face/Off and Crimson Tide from Koreandvd's and I got them about a week later in good order.

I also use cdjapan for all Japanese dvd's and I always got great service from them, I got my dvd's about 3 days later :D

Armageddon Japanese dvd is that expensive because it's very much wanted and out of print so you will have to pay crazy prices for that release.
I paid about 68 dollars for Cutthroat Island DTS but it's such a great soundtrack that it is well worth it :smashin:
