ive just updated my firmware on my n95 but before i did i made a backup (as it suggested)

now i found i havnt got any contacts or text messages on my phone anymore, so i am trying to do the backup but it gets to "restoring full backup to phone" 56% and stops, it will stay like this for hours even though it only took a few mins to get to 56%

    what am i doing wrong?

    thanks for any help:)

Try downloading the Nseries PC Suite from the Nokia website. This app has extra functionality for Nseries phones and will allow you to selectively restore only the parts of your backup you want.

You might be able to see some of the contents of the backup file using notepad.

    Or try this:

    http://engo.de/nfb_decode.htm

Or there's a program called Noki, but I think you have to pay for it.

Is this better than the one that comes with the phone?
I downloaded the non N series suite and it seemed to have more things in it (including selective restore). The Nseries suite i got with my phone and also downloaded from nokia's main support site seems to be more basic and is v1.6 i beleive.
Im looking for a version that allows me to edit my contact details.

Don't think you can edit the Contacts with any of them but the Beta v2.0 is better than 1.6 IMO

    Thanks for the quick responce.
Think ill stick to the non N series suite then. In that you can edit the contacts.
Im useing outlook as well but i like the way the PC suite works.
