is it possible to update the software on an old nokia media master on dig box to get rid of all the channels in the menu that no longer exist, i have one sitting in my loft but dont want to use it unless i can get rid off all the channel names that used to be on ondig and just get it to list the relevant freeview channels.

I think that if you just use the setup menu to find all channels, rather than "add" channels then it will wipe all the channels you currently have and just display the new channels that it finds - effectively deleting your old OnDig channels.

This will indeed do the trick. FYI there will probably never be any software updates for these boxes so you are stuck with the old OnDigital menus and occasional lockups, etc.
