It seems that Nokia will stop the production of the 6310i within the next couple of months. Does someone know with whay model this one is replaced?
Tri-band, bluetooth, infrared, gprs....It seems that they are not all represented in one other model.

Do you have a source for this information?

Sources are two different mobile phone suppliers. One in France, the other one in UK.

Think the above features will be represented somewhere in the range, however the biggest loss will be the beloved in-car kits that virtually every businessman and rep has got fitted in his/her vehicle...

    This is what concerns me.

    I started with a 6150, then a 6150-S, then a 6210 and now a 6310i.

All the batteries and chargers work. The car kit works fine but most importantly, the phone itself just works.

My average monthly phone bill is in the region of £500 and I actually get more incoming calls than outgoing so you could class me as a heavy user (keep in mind my day time rate is 8ppm).

The 6310 (and those before) is a true business class phone. Nokia would be stupid to not carry this on.

Of course the question has to be, how do you improve on the current model (other than sort out a few of the silly bugs in the software).

I'm sure if Nokia discontinue it they'll replace it with something which, as you say, will fix the bugs. Especially as I think it's their only tri-band phone isn't it? I've had a 6310i for over a year and it's easily the best mobile I've ever had.

Thing is Nokia are complacent and stupid these days, arogant if you like, they have 40+% market share... Think they could muck this up (please don't) and not launch a car-kit friendly replacement... fill your boots now...

I agree its probably the most sorted phone on the market...

All Nokia's are tri-band these days...

Wish list - 6310 with 65K colour screen and camera (or just make the 6310 foreeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvveeeeerrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!)???

    Regards
    Gar

I guess this may come round to bite them if they do it though.

After all, a lot of businesses have stuck with Nokia because of just this.

If they now have to update all their accesories as well when they wish to update their fleet of phones, if the Nokia 'lock in' is no longer there, they may well switch vendors.

Not sure about the colour screen or camera though.

tbh, I'm a gadget freak, and I'm well sold on my GX10, good phone and they were wise to copy nokia with their logical user interface... colour & photos aren't a requirement...

Anyone remember Ferguson, I do, had control for a while (of video's/tv's), then the Japs came along...
