Nokia 6230i v3.40 + Kingston MMC 1GB - problem !!??

Hello there, I have a Nokia 6230i without simlock and 1GB MMC Kingston+ card and it doesn't work. In the camera there is no problem but when i'm trying to use the card in the phone I have a very big lag and no access to the card. When I tried to format it by the phone there was an error. What should I do now ? I red that 6230i accepts cards up to 2GB, so whats wrong with mine ? Maybe software is too old ? Its from 05-05-23.
