Hi Everyone

Anyone know why im just getting the background music and faint voices on some of my HD Xvid files.

Ive only got phono leads for sound output form the PC. but im sure this hasnt been a problem with 5.1 stuff before.

Any Ideas???

Sounds like the centre channel is missing. Your soundcard is probably doing 5.1 (or a prologic-type simulation), but you've only got a stereo (left and right channels) signal going from the soundcard to the amp/speakers.

Changing the speaker settings (in your soundcard or windows setup) to stereo should fix it.

What type of amp/speakers are you using, and does the soundcard have a digital output?

Hi Clock Works.

Ive got a Pioneer 5.1, Nothing Special but it does the job.

No digital output on the pc too, It has got an Audiophile 2496 so its not a bad sound card, but not great connectivity for home theatre. It was mainly used for Making music before ive dedicated it to the PJ.

I Will have more of a play today with the settings of the sound card, hopefully that will sort it.

Cheers
