I have just purchased a KiSS DP-470 integrated player and receiver. Upon plugging it in I have found that no Bass is forthcoming from the subwoofer. I have tried all combinations of speaker sizes and channel volume levels that I can think of but to no avail.

Do i need to get a powered sub as mine is just a passive one (using the sub from my old system).

Or is there anything blazingly obvious that i am missing.

    Thanks for any help

dont know the DP-470 (had a 450 once before it got replaced by a onkyo) but i'm convinced that one has no amplifier for the LFE channel. you'll either need a active sub or a external amplifier for your passive sub.

you're absolutely sure the 470 is a player+receiver? was'nt aware of that KiSS builds anything like this
