    Hi,
I have a Yamaha S540 dvd player which on the whole has been fine but I have tried to play a "professionally" recorded dvd of my eldest daughter dancing in a show at a local theatre and I get absolutely nothing sound wise. The disc is a Verbatim DVD-R 4x and Ive already swapped the disc for a second but still get no sound. Is it the player or the Disc?.
    thanks Helen B

    Hi
My dads had this problem with his yamaha 540s with copied discs and it is weird. If you connect the dvd player with interconects to the analogue cd inputs on your amp it should play it just wont play through a digital connection dont ask me why though.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers Gonzo.

I've had some DVDs in the past that don't play through the digital outputs of any player, just the analogues. Don't ask me why. Try the analogue outs like gonzo said.
