No sound from pc to plasma

    ive connected my pc to my plasma hitachi 42pd5200 using the dvi on my gc to my vga on plasma,after messing around with the settings i loaded up friday night lights and played through vlc must admit picture looks stunning really good detail and very clear now the only problem i have got is i cant get any sound,i have taken off the speakers off the plasma and hooked everything up to an amp (denon avr1905) i have loooked in the manual of the amp and i really dont know what i connect and where.
    any ideas please?

    a. Optical lead (toslink) from mobo to amp.
    b. Mini jack to coax to amp.

    c. Or 3 phono leads to amp. front left/front, right rear left/rear right, centre/sub

    What are your pc's outputs. ie have you got a sound card like a Audidgy 2 zs?
    You need to set all your media players to sp/dif to use the first two option a,b.

    i do have an Audidgy 2 sound card i reckon mini jacks sound the easier option ill give it a go cheers for the response
