Can anyone help? This intermittent fault is driving me crazy! My ICE is a standard tape/cd/radio unit (Aura something). The problem is that on hot days the unit switches on and seems to operate normally apart from the fact there is no sound, apart from a slight intermittent quiet popping. Usually after driving a few minutes (and presumably cooling down with the aircon) it starts working again, the sound slowly increasing in volume over a minute to normal. If I park up for a while wtih the radio switched off, same all over again. I thought it was the unit itself, had it swapped at my dealer but the new one is exactly the same - it's all one unit, what could it be? In cooler weather it's fine, damp doesn't affect it. Could the high temps inside the car in the sunlight be causing a speaker to short out, and cause this? I can't see how wiring could be at fault, or am I wrong? Whenever I take it to the dealer it's never sunny (well this is England after all..) and I am at my wits end. Any help much appreciated. cheers, Jon.
