    OK not 100% true but...

I have a LG HT305 that has the 5.1 speakers. My problem is 5.1 is to much in my house and I worry about the neighbours. I am more than happy with the sound out my TV and would like just to use that but no sound when I pull the speakers out. I have been through the settings 1576 times :) and cant see anything not a switch on the back. I have swapped scart lead and scart sockets on the TV. Am I flogging a dead horse with this? At present I have taken the large woofer out leaving a rubbish tinny sound.

Are you trying to use it without the speakers included just through the tv? If this is possible you will need to set each speaker to none in the settings, you may find you need to keep the fronts and set the others to none.

Yes mantm that is what I am trying to do. Ill try that later as the wife is watching her dam soaps just now :) When you say if, are you saying on some players its not possible? Worse case scenario I could buy a smaller woofer I suppose.

You'll need to buy a dvd player without speakers then, it is not possible to buy a compatible sub.

Bummer. Cheers mentm. I could just take the attitude of the rest on my neighbours and keep it plugged in and cranked up.

You should be able to adjust the level of the sub though, I turn mine off at night so I don't wake the kids (again)

Its a rely nice unit that I like but the software is rubbish. So adjust the sound you need to come out the DVD or radio so no sound to try. I think I have a happy medium so awaiting until silly o'clock to try it out. I am going to buy a inline on/of switch for the woofer just in case I am in the middle of a movie. Don't ask im strange that way :)
