Hi Try connecting the sky+ box to your Denon using an optical lead. This has the added benefit of giving Dolby Surround on sky/disney channels!!

Just connect phono leads (red and white) from Sky to one of the video inputs on your Denon, then select that input.

Alternatively if your tv has phono outputs just connect these to the Denon inputs. Then anything that you connect to your tv will have its sound outputted to the Denon.

    I know the feeling Riss.
Hv u tried switching the "input mode" using the remote for the 500SD? This loops through PCM->DTS->ANALOG->AUTO
