Evening All.........
Help..Please (if you can)
Lost all my freeview channels on 4 tvs.. There fed via a Glbal Comms Professional Loftbox.. connected as...
1 x sat ant, 1 x living room, 1 x DAB ant, 1 x TV ant, 1 x FM ant, plus 4 x tv outputs...
To try and establish if the loftbox is knackered, I took a tv into the loft, hooked it up direct to the TV ant (away from the loftbox) and found freeview channels. Then i hooked up one of the tv outputs direct to the TV ant and that room could then pick up freeview channels.... On top of this I then put a length of co axial to act as an ariel in one of the TV`s and that picked up freeview channels...
From this, could one assume that the Loftbox is broken.....?
Many thanks in anticipation...

Yes... [or that it has lost its power supply if it is of a type that has an separate external supply or is fed from one of the outlet connections]

... and welcome to the forum.

Hi Gavtech

many thanks for the reply...appreciated.. Wheres the best place to source a replacement...?

I've no idea which would be best.
Maybe other members can offer suggestions and experiences ... but here is a possibility.

Google should be your friend on finding a source of the replacement at a good price.

Does a led light up on the unit normally? Is it lit? If not does the mains socket it connects to have power? Is the fuse in the plug OK?

Try disconnecting all the cables from the loftbox (label them first) and try the aerial and one room only ... if that works OK add the others back one at a time... Something may be causing the box dc power to shut down?

9 times out of 10 it's the simple things that are wrong.

Hi All...

Thanks All for the advice......

Next steps...

The Loftbox has an led on it and is lit.. I took all the TV outputs off and connected it to the TV Ant... bypassing the loftbox completely.. and I now have signal down to the freeview sets apart from the Lounge one..?

Question.. Is the connection on the loftbox marked "living room" provided with a TV Signal by the TV Ant (when connected to the loftbox)

Any advice ... help... suggestions... Would be appreciated...As I`m getting it in the neck and my ears are beginning to bleed......!

It sounds as though you have nt got your return/rf2 cable from living rooom connected if you look at the diagram it needs to be or it won't work , so either connect rf2 out on your sky if you have it to uplink in on loft box or fit a splitter in your living room to feed your tv there and the uplink cable

Yes the living room feed should have the TV aerial and satellite signal combined into one cable and appearing on a 'triplexer plate' with separate sockets in the lounge. The 'return' signal from the lounge (RF2 of a Sky box, usually) is then passed to the 4 'TV out' outlets.

Global Loft Box wiring and accessories gives a wiring diagram that you may be able to use.
